It's been a few years since BASS brought a professional tournament to South Carolina's Lake Murray, but the 2008 Carolina Clash (May 15-18) will change that. Murray's 52,000 surface acres will play host to the best fishermen in the world at one of the very best times to be there. It was in the middle of May of 1993 that BASS held one of its most successful tournaments ever on Lake Murray. Texas' David Wharton won that event with nearly 90 pounds of bass over four days. Most of the bass will be in a postspawn pattern by mid-May, but they'll still be big and plentiful. Expect great catch rates and a bass or two in the double-digit range.
