Have you ever wanted to fish with Rick Clunn, Mike Iaconelli, Aaron Martens, Peter Thliveros, Terry Scroggins or Pam Martin-Wells? If you're anything like millions of bass fanatics all over the country, you've dreamed of honing your skills by sharing a boat with these stars.

Well, now's your chance.

Just sign up for the 2008 Bassmaster Opens, and you'll have a terrific chance of fishing with one or more of the sport's greatest anglers. Better yet, you'll have a 100 percent chance of sharing a boat with someone who can help take your bass fishing to the next level. It's your chance to learn from some great anglers for less than it would cost to hire a fishing guide.

Right now BASS is taking registrations for co-anglers in the Southern and Central Opens. You don't need a boat or expensive tow vehicle, just a love for the sport, a desire to compete and hone your skills and enough fishing gear to get the job done from the back of a professional's boat.

How much does it cost? Just $300 per event. For many anglers, that's less than the price of a rod and reel combo, but you can get a lot more for your money by fishing an Open as a co-angler.

For starters, you'll have the chance to fish with top professionals. More than 40 Bassmaster Elite Series pros are already signed up to fish. Where else can you share a boat with one of these experts for as little as $300?

What's more, you'll have a great opportunity to recoup your investment. Each Open pays more than $70,000 in cash and merchandise to the top co-anglers in the event. The first place co-angler will earn an 18-foot bass boat with a 150-hp outboard valued at better than $30,000. And the payouts go all the way down to 50th place.

Right now, you can only sign up to fish all three of the tournaments in one of the two divisions (schedule appears below), but beginning at noon on November 19, you can register for individual events and target those venues that best suit your budget, schedule or fishing strengths.

The 2008 Southern Open tournaments will take place on Florida's St. Johns River, South Carolina's Santee Cooper reservoirs and Alabama's legendary Lake Guntersville.

The Central Division will fish Louisiana's Red River, Kentucky's Kentucky Lake and Lake Texoma on the Texas-Oklahoma border.
