The main focus of this technology is a set of goggles that utilizes infra-red technology to see in the dark. Included to spice up the package is video in/out capabilities that allow the user to hook the goggles up to a portable DVR and record everything they are seeing. And if things are especially slow, the consumer can stream video in, which means you could watch a video through the goggles (which come equipped with earphones for that purpose).
According to Scott Firkus of J&K Outdoor Products, the NYTE VU technology was created with three stipulations.
"We wanted our product to be lightweight, so we made it only 12 ounces," Firkus said. "Then we also wanted it to have higher picture quality than generation three night-vision technology. Finally, we knew we needed to keep it affordable."
The other product featuring NYTE VU technology is a scope converter that allows the user to modify an existing scope to give it night-vision capabilities.
The scope has been designed so that a hunter can change quickly between a regular scope and night-vision scope so it doesn't become inconvenient on a day/night hunt.
"On top of all these features, you can attach the video connection to the scope, which projects the image into the goggles so you don't even have to shoulder your firearm," Firkus said. "This allows the user to look around corners too. We sell these for paintballing, university research, cross-country skiing and law enforcement."
The unit comes with charger, batteries, cables and stereo earphones.
