Offered for 20 years in simple white-on-black, Luminox is expanding their popular Colormark series of watches. While the face and strap remain black, the numbers and dials are now available in blue, green, white, orange and yellow. The bright colors are enhanced by a self-powered illumination system which consists of micro glass capsules filled with tritium — the same radioactive isotope used in everything from gun sights to nuclear bombs.
A long-time favorite of divers and Navy SEALs, Luminox is aiming their brand at a wider audience, hoping to attract the hunting and outdoors markets.
The Colormark Series feature a rubber strap, double-pin stainless-steel buckle and date window. And this year, Luminox will include a series of smaller watches aimed at the female market.
"Traditionally, this has been a male-dominated brand," said Fred Gibson, a representative for Luminox. "But, there are ladies who are adventurers, and they like that technology."
With a 10-year warranty, Swiss quartz movement and water resistance up to 200 meters, the Colormark Series are dependable watches for anyone working in the outdoors. And now they come in pretty colors as well.
