2009 QDMA Convention opens
LOUISVILLE, Ky. The Quality Deer Management Association's 9th annual convention kicked off on July 23 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville, Ky.
More than 20,000 deer enthusiasts are expected to attend, which set an attendance record for the organization.
Founded in 1988, QDMA currently has around 50,000 members, all of whom are devoted to the science of promoting a sustainable, high quality deer population across their range.
The first two days of the convention are filled with research and fund-raising events for the media and supporting sponsors. The final two days are open to the deer hunting public, and are filled with seminars and displays designed to excite outdoorsmen for the upcoming deer season.
