Wildlife Cam starts with a bear
It's the type action you can only hope to see on your deer stand. But in this case it was brought live straight to a laptop.
With only a day of the ESPN Outdoors Wildlife Cameras rolling, the first evening quickly showed just how cool it is to be an unseen observer in the world of deer, turkey, and bears, oh my.

Wednesday evening started just like most on the Wildlife Camera, lots of deer milling around the food plot, several of which centered in front of the cameras where a container of C'Mere Deer Three-Day Harvest had been set earlier.
There was the occasional buck moving in and pushing around, some does who would tire of their counterpart and fight back by perching on their hind legs and flailing their front hooves at whatever deer annoyed them at the time.
It was just a standard day in the deer world.
Then things started to change. A black bear, quickly named "Buddy Bear" by one of our youngest viewers 10-year old Elena McKinnis, appeared on the plot and upset everything.
Buddy Bear stood on its hind legs and that was evidently the sign for everything not nailed down to hightail it off the plot.
We knew there was a possibility of bears in the area we just didn't expect it so soon.
Interestingly enough Buddy Bear, with the plot and its two corn feeders all to itself, went straight to the C'Mere Deer sprinkled in front of Camera 2. And it stayed that way for about an hour, as Buddy Bear fed around and in general looked like a bear happy to get a free meal.He got so possessive of the area that he simply laid down next to one of the feeders and looked like he was going to guard the area for the rest of the night.
Buddy Bear is not a huge bruin. It appears to be about 100 to 200 pounds, maybe more. But he was king of the hill at least for a short while. We were all surprised when a big old feral hog, we named "Arkie" in honor of the Arkansas Razorbacks ran him off.
Old Arkie must be a friend of the deer. In the next 30 minutes several of the deer that had made a hasty retreat were back on the plot and enjoying their evening meal.
That's a show a worth waching. When you get a minute check out the Wildlife Cameras, even in the wild kingdom there are a few dramas taking place on a regular basis.
