Cogar is a 25 year-long competitor in logging sports and has spent 19 of those with STIHL TIMBERSPORTS. He became involved with the sport through his family, as his father, Arden Sr. is a legend in the sport. Arden didn't take the sport seriously until he joined the West Virginia University Forestry Club's Woodsmen's Team. When Arden graduated and continued his studies at the WVU Business school and Law School, he coached the Woodsmen's Team. Arden is very active in logging sports, as he and his family are instrumental in running several events throughout the southeastern United States. Arden also spends time coaching aspiring lumberjacks and promoting the sport every chance his job allows. Arden competes alongside several family members including his father, his wife, Kristy, and several cousins. Cogar competes in about 12-15 events per year and has traveled worldwide as the Captain of STIHL's United States National Lumberjack Team.
