How you got started in the sport
I learned to climb at age six from my father. I started competing professionally at age 16. My dad got involved through a forestry program in college, kept with it, and eventually passed it on to me.
Interesting facts
I enjoy surfing, snow boarding, biking, rock climbing, soccer, tennis and just about anything else. I consider myself a pretty health-conscious individual, and I like to stay active. I am usually on a pretty strict diet, training for something, whether it be a lumberjack competition, tennis tournament or whatever. I am also a lover of music, and I am one of the singer/songwriters in the band Passenger Seat. We play mostly just in the Portland area, and we are working on our second album right now.
