How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series and other competitions?
I log roll and boom run outdoors once it starts to warm up in the spring. I log roll inside throughout the winter at local YMCA's. I cross train during the year by running, biking, rollerblading, lifting, swimming, and doing yoga.
When did you begin participating/competing in lumberjack sports/boom running and the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series?
I began log rolling when I was six years old at the La Crosse, WI YMCA.
I started competing at the age of eight in log rolling.
I started boom running at the age of 14.
I have qualified for the STIHL Timbersports Series since the first year of women's boom running in 2005.
How did you get involved in lumberjack sports/boom running?
My parents could not get my older brother, Carl, and I into swimming lessons at the same time so they signed Carl up for log rolling. He started it and liked it so he kept doing it. At the age of five I wanted to be just like him so I started to log roll the next year at the age of six.
Are you related to any current or former STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series competitors?
hobbies include: working out, going skiing and tubing on the lakes and rivers, reading, watching movies, going to dinner with friends, helping with amateur log rolling tournaments, and playing with children
