After completion of the third round, all 16 competitors lined up as they had done hours before, waiting for the final say on who was the Southern Conclave champion.



After hearing of ties for fourth and second place, Justin Jacobs of Louisana Tech is named the 2008 Southern Conclave Champion!



Jacobs' friends and family erupt in a chorus of screams and cheers upon hearing his name and first place in the same sentence.

Jacobs is mobbed by friends and family upon winning the competition. STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Pro Mike Slingerland later said of Jacobs, "He was the most interested kid here in terms of getting better." It can only get better for Jacobs, who will be moving onto the Collegiate World Championships later this year.
