While the Elite Series pros were battling the Kissimmee chain Saturday during the Citrus Slam, presented by Longhorn, local bass fishing fans gathered at tournament headquarters at Camp Mack in Polk County, FL.
Beneath live oaks covered in Spanish moss, locals came out to support the sport of fishing and their favorite professional anglers.
A Bassmaster University session was conducted on stage, which included Bassmaster Elite Series pros Chris Lane, Steve Daniel, Stephen Browning, and Todd Auten, who revealed the nuances of Florida fishing to the crowd.
Country music singer/songwriters Rodney Clawson and Jon Stone performed their hit country songs, including the recent Casey Ashley title "Fisherman" and "I Saw God Today," which is currently riding high in the charts with George Strait.
A "Pimped-Out Golf Cart Contest" was also held, featuring golf carts decorated in fishing themes, judged by emcees Keith Alan, Steve "Lurch" Scott and longtime outdoor television host, Jerry McKinnis.
