WBT Angler Profile: Cindy Hill

WBT pro Cindy Hill

Hometown: Smyrna, Tenn.

Age: 53

Occupation: Professional angler

High School: Southaven High School, Southaven, Miss.

College: Middle Tennessee State University

How Long Bass Fishing: Fishing since I was 4 or 5 years old, started fishing professionally in 1999.

How Started Bass Fishing: Raised in a single parent household, my mother would take my two sisters and one brother to the fishing rodeos in the Memphis, Tenn., parks. When I met my husband of nearly 30 years, he fished every day, and for me to spend time with him, I had to learn how to bass fish. He created a bass fishing monster.

Career Highlights: First place at the WBT tournament on Clarks Hill Lake in 2008; second place in the Women's Bass Fishing Association World Championship. I have several Top 10 finishes and have been consistent enough to make the Championship every year that I have been fishing. Really every tournament I fish is a career highlight. I love fishing and have always been very competitive.

Career Dream: My career dream would be to get the next generation of girls involved in fishing.

Favorite Bass Water: My favorite bass water would be a toss up between Kentucky Lake and Guntersville Lake. If we did not love Smyrna, Tenn., so much, I'd live closer to Kentucky Lake.

Big Bass: My largest bass was a 10-pound largemouth on a topwater bait; my largest smallmouth weighed 5.25 pounds and was caught on Percy Priest Lake on a crankbait.

Favorite Fishing Technique or Style: My favorite fishing technique is power fishing. I love flipping and pitching. Any time I can throw a jig, I'm happy.
