Age: 53
Occupation: Caterer, Read water meter for community water system
How Long Bass Fishing: 18 years
How Started Bass Fishing: Mike, my husband, started me bass fishing.
Career Dream: Stay healthy for one year of the WBT.
Career Highlights: First female angler to place in the Top 50 of a BASS Open Tournament in 1997, which broke the record of the highest finish by a female angler, which I also held. The only female angler to qualify for the Weekend Series National Championship in 2006.
Favorite Bass Water: Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas, Lake Dardanelle, Ark., Lake Guntersville, Ala.
Big Bass: Largemouth bass, 9.2 pounds, caught on Lake Guntersville, wacky worming a Wave Worm bamboo stick while practicing for a BASS Weekend Series tournament with Betty Stahl.
Favorite Fishing Technique or Style: This is a hard one. I try to learn different techniques. Wacky worming a Tiki Stick, swimming a jig and nothing can beat a topwater bite for excitement, whether it is swimming a Tiki toad, buzzbait or a Zara Spook. But then we have our old standards flipping soft plastics, crankbaits, Carolina rigging (which was my favorite way to fish when I first started tournament fishing). Fishing shallower lakes made me learn different techniques. Oh yeah, let's not forget slow rolling a 3/4-ounce spinnerbait in deep water. It may sound dull and boring but a hard pull on the end of your line can get your blood pumping.
