What's at stake

$85,340 in cash and merchandise to the top 30 pros and valuable points towards qualifying in the Women's Bassmaster Tour championship and winning the Toyota Women's Bassmaster Tour Angler of the Year title. The top 30 co-anglers compete for $43,440 in cash and merchandise.

The pros said it

"This is the first time I've gone into a tournament with so many choices of pattern. The lake is small and that gives me the opportunity to move and try something different each day." — Sheri Glasgow, 39, Muskogee, Okla., who finished second in the debut WBT event in April

"A few of the women who are used to these types of conditions and who are familiar with Lewisville Lake have a much better chance getting to the top than women who aren't used to it. Finding one to three fish in the morning will put a woman in the hunt. I don't see very many limits coming in." — Tanya Kreuzer, 35, Mesa, Ariz., who finished in 30th place in the first WBT event

"The fish are few and far between for me. I am running and gunning all over the place. I think it's going to take a 35-pound bag to win the whole tournament and I know it can be done." — Juanita Robinson, 56, Highlands, Texas, who placed 40th in the first WBT event

The strategy

Glasgow: She has several patterns to lean on and said she's found fish around docks, on wood and on rocks. Glasgow says there will be plenty of bites, but the big bites will be the most elusive. She's using Quantum Tour edition rods and 12- to 20-pound test line, but declined to reveal her lure.

Richardson: She is fishing shallow with finesse worms but is much more accustomed to fishing deep ledges back home. The unfamiliarity with the lake is a huge challenge for Richardson, she said, but believes the expected hot weather will help. She's already practiced for a week.

Kreuzer: She is using soft-plastics on very light line to finesse fish. Kreuzer said patience will ultimately play a role in bringing in a limit.

Robinson: She is searching in the shallows in the back of coves and on stumps. Robinson said the more hot and windy weather, the better fishing will be. She said she will power fish and flip her way to a win.
