We showed up at Tony's ranch near Columbus, Indiana, not knowing what to expect. Tony's ranch manager, Jody Nobles, had been working with Bass Pro Shops and Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation to set this event up. Driven To Hunt was privileged to be invited for, what would turn out to be, a very special time for two young men and their families.
Our attention was focused on Zach Lorenz and Tyler Gingnagel as they got the opportunity to meet NASCAR great Tony Stewart along with Bass Pro Shop founder Johnny Morris, his son John Paul, NASCAR legend Red Farmer and Team Realtree's Bill and Tyler Jordan. Jody and Teresa Nobles had worked hard to make this truly a hunt of a lifetime.
Our cameras where there to focus on Zach Lorenz of Northern Indiana while the Bass Pro Shop's cameras went out with Tyler and television host John Paul Morris. When the families arrived they were greeted by Tony Stewart first. Stewart spent
A lot of time with each family making them feel at home at his ranch. After a great dinner, Bass Pro Shops took center stage and handed out clothing and gear to each of the family members. The smile on each of the kids' faces was priceless.
Both Zach and Tyler had a chance to harvest a deer. Zach took a doe on his evening hunt while Tyler missed his opportunity at a doe. But the highlight of the weekend was the chance to see a side of Tony Stewart that not many get to see. Tony was a very down to earth guy. He was constantly talking with Zach or Tyler, laughing and having a good time. He is passionate about the outdoors and his deer that he treats more like pets than prey. Tony's ranch is his safe haven away from the busy world of NASCAR and it was very cool to have an all access pass.
