2012 recap: Almirola made a respectable top-20 showing in the standings in his first full season as a Cup competitor, driving the famous No. 43 for Richard Petty Motorsports. He won the pole for the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte and finished 16th. Almirola finished in the top 10 in two of the last four races, including a fourth-place showing at Martinsville.
