According to Cathy Bryarly, a deputy for the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, 12-year-old Richard Wayde Hamar of Yuma, Colo., was thrown before the time was up. The rear legs of the bull then came down on his lower abdomen, missing the protective vest he was wearing.
Calgary papers reject ad opposing Stampede event, group says

Two daily newspapers in Calgary, Alberta, are under fire from an animal rights group after they refused to publish an advertisement calling for a ban on the calf-roping event at the city's world famous Stampede rodeo.

| PBR - McKennon Wimberly McKennon Wimberly underwent surgery to put a rod in his left leg for a broken tibia sustained when he fell behind the chutes. He will be out for 6-12 weeks. |

| PBR - Tanner Girletz Tanner Girletz sustained a concussion, scalp laceration, facial contusions, and right corneal abrasion when he was struck in the head by the bull's horn while hung up during the first round in Des Moines. The laceration was sutured in the training room. He is out of competition for 2-6 weeks. |

| PBR - Brendon Clark Brendon Clark (Morpeth, AUS) sustained a liver laceration, contusions of both lungs, and rib fractures when he was stepped on after being thrown from his bull during the second round at Omaha. He was released from the hospital April 30, and returned home to California to continue his recuperation.He will be out for 3-6 months. |

| PRCA - Wade Sumpter Steer wrestler Wade Sumpter tore his pectoral muscle in the first round of the 2008 WNFR and underwent surgery to reattach the muscle to the bone last December. Sumpter's rehabilitation is progressing according to schedule and he is on track to return to competition at the Reno Rodeo in June. |

| PRCA - Chad Ferley 2006 World Champ Saddle Bronc Rider Chad Ferley suffered a complete tear of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee April 10 at the DNCFR. Justin Sportsmedicine's Don Andrews said they do not anticipate the need for surgery, but Ferley will be out of action eight to nine weeks and wearing a brace. |
