SAKHIR, Bahrain -- Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg took pole position at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Saturday, finishing ahead of Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari for the event held amid anti-government protests in the divided nation.
