DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Martin Truex Jr. will be named on Tuesday the newest addition to Michael Waltrip Racing, multiple sources confirmed on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway.

A press conference including sponsor NAPA is scheduled for noon at the team's Cornelius, N.C., shop.

Truex is in the final year of his contract with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. NAPA, the long-time sponsor of team owner Michael Waltrip, will be become his primary sponsor.

Waltrip will move from a full-time to part-time schedule that will include the Daytona 500 in February. He could remain in his familiar No. 55 with Truex taking another number, possibly the No. 56.

Truex's younger brother, 17-year-old Ryan, already is a developmental driver for MWR.

Waltrip recently told ESPN.com he was leaning strongly to a part-time schedule in 2010 when he allowed Patrick Carpentier to replace him in the road course race at Watkins Glen.

"That's what it's feeling like for me," Waltrip said at the time. "I said at the beginning of the year, and I was dead serious, if the other two cars are outrunning me and I'm not keeping up, heck with it.

"This year it's not working for me. I just want to have a winning championship race team."

David Reutimann is only 12 points out of the top 12 that will make the Chase after the 26th race at Richmond International Raceway. Marcos Ambrose, who runs MWR equipment for JTG-Daugherty Racing, was 18th before Saturday's race.

Waltrip was 32nd.

Bass Pro Shops, which has been Truex's sponsor at Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and Dale Earnhardt Inc., has another year left on its contract with EGR. There has been speculation that the sponsor would either move with Truex or to another team.

Also, sources said Truex is expected to complete this season at EGR. He entered Saturday's race 24th in points.
