CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sprint Cup driver Greg Biffle has finalized a new contract with Roush Fenway Racing and primary sponsor 3M, multiple sources told ESPN.com.

A news conference involving all three parties is scheduled for Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway to announce the deal.

Biffle, 41, made it clear from the outset that he had no plans to explore the free-agent market, in part because of loyalty to Roush Fenway and because there really aren't a lot of options in the current economic situation to drive elsewhere.

Biffle, who has finished in the top 10 in points the past three seasons, is ranked 18th heading into Talladega. He is coming off a season-best fourth-place finish at Texas.

Points leader and teammate Carl Edwards remains unsigned. Edwards recently said negotiations have been put to the side because he doesn't want to disrupt the best start of his career.

Biffle ultimately believes Edwards will remain with Roush Fenway for many of the same reasons he did.

"The next three to five years is going to be good at Roush Fenway," Biffle said recently after beating 15-time Funny Car champion John Force in an exhibition at zMax Dragway. "Our engine is new and we're going to continue to find better, new stuff with it.

"Are there other places to go? Probably. Ultimately, we want to win races. Economics is a part of it. If we were going to drive something we'd win in damn near every weekend, we probably would drive for nothing because that's the way it is."
