Jeff Green's jackman sidelined with torn ACL
CONCORD, N.C. -- Jackman Phillip Gee, part of NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Jeff Green's pit crew, has torn knee ligaments and could be unavailable for up to one year.
Gee was injured during a pit stop at last week's race at Martinsville Speedway. He underwent an MRI on Wednesday that revealed a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee, a statement from Haas CNC Racing said Saturday.
Gee likely will require surgery which could prevent him from performing pit crew duties from six to 12 months.
Temporarily replacing Gee on Harold Holly's crew will be Mike Casto, the jackman for Haas CNC Racing Busch series driver Johnny Sauter. Casto will work this week's race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
