Graf clinches title, Rookie of Year honors
MONTREAL -- Rookie Klaus Graf clinched the Trans-Am Series championship Saturday, with a win at the Molson Indy Montreal.
Graf, driving a Jaguar XKR, became the first German to win the title, and the first rookie since 1989. He also won Rookie of the Year honors.
Graf took the lead on the 26th lap when Paul Gentilozzi dropped out with mechanical problems, and he wasn't challenged from there. Greg Pickett finished second in the race, also in a Jaguar, ahead of Randy Ruhlmans Chevrolet Corvette.
