WEST ALLIS, Wis. -- IndyCar officials have cleared Simona De Silvestro to drive in Sunday's race at the Milwaukee Mile one day after she crashed during a qualifying run.
De Silvestro was sent to the hospital for evaluation after hitting the outside wall in Turn 4 on Saturday, then smacking the inside wall. Her crew was at the track late into the night fixing her car.
It has been a rough couple of weeks for De Silvestro, who burned both her hands in a crash during Indianapolis 500 practice last month. She has been racing with bandages on her hands.
