Win puts Stewart five points from lead
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- James Stewart raced to his 10th AMA Supercross victory of the season Saturday night, beating Chad Reed in front of 31,653 fans at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.
Stewart, the Team San Manuel Yamaha star from Haines City, cut Reed's lead to five points in the season standings.
"It was a great race, and we actually collided over the triple jump, but that's racing," Stewart said. "I look forward to the next race in Seattle."
Earlier, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Christophe Pourcel, from Corona, Calif., won his fifth main event of the season. He clinched the Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class championship last week.
"I had a great race tonight," Pourcel said. "That was a great way to end my championship season. I didn't get the start I wanted, but I was able to work my way to the front of the pack."
