CHICAGO -- Freestyle motocross star Ronnie Renner has broken his own world record with a jump of 63 feet, 5 inches on a quarter pipe.

Renner's jump at Butler Field in Grant Park on Saturday night broke the record of 59-2 he established last year in a jump at the Santa Monica Pier.

Renner broke the record on his third attempt.

He launched himself by riding up a 22-foot quarter pipe and whipped his 250-pound motorcycle through a sweeping, 180-degree arc to his left that carried him upside down and brought him down onto a steel landing ramp that's 31-feet, 9-inches tall and 64-feet wide.
