Tony Stewart struggles again
WEST FARGO, N.D. -- Tony Stewart failed to finish the 40-lap late model A-Main feature Thursday night at Red River Valley Speedway, a three-eighths-mile dirt track.
The two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion's car was taken into the wall two laps into the A-Main, and Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, Wis., went on to win the race.
"What's hard for people to understand is everybody thinks we're the favorites when we come to a place like this and we're not," Stewart said. "We're actually the underdogs because the guys that we're racing with race here every week."
Stewart was fourth in his heat race, then failed to finish the B-Main. Stewart made the A-Main with a promoter's provisional spot and started in the last row of a 26-car field.
Last summer, Stewart also failed to win a feature in two dates at the Red River Valley Speedway, competing once in a late model and once in a sprint car.
