Tyson has July bout, training camp in works

PHOENIX -- Mike Tyson has registered as a sex offender here,
a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office official said Saturday.

Tyson, who spent three years in prison on a rape conviction in
Indiana, registered as a sex offender at the sheriff's office
Friday morning, said spokesman Lt. J.J. Tuttle.

The former heavyweight champ, who has been living in north
Phoenix, plans to open a training camp here Thursday at Central
Boxing, an employee at the gym said.

Tyson (50-4, 44 KOs) is scheduled to return to the ring against
Kevin McBride (31-4-1, 26 KOs) on July 31. An official announcement
is expected within the next two weeks.

The fight would be the first for Tyson since Feb. 22, 2003, when
he knocked out Clifford Etienne in 49 seconds in Memphis, Tenn.
