Bout moved to Aug. 24
SYDNEY, Australia -- A title fight between International Boxing Federation flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan and Jair Jiminez has been postponed because of visa delays for the Colombian challenger, organizers said Friday.
Darchinyan was to have fought Jiminez at the Sydney Entertainment Center next Wednesday. But promoter William Takataka said a delay in obtaining a visa for Jiminez meant the challenger couldn't have arrived until Sunday, giving him only three days in Australia before the fight.
Takataka said the fight will go ahead at the same venue on Aug. 24.
