Amonsot beats Reyes in unanimous decision
LAS VEGAS -- World-ranked junior lightweight Czar Amonsot of the Philippines landed more frequent and harder punches and took a 10-round unanimous decision over Jose Reyes Friday at the Orleans Hotel and Casino.
Amonsot, ranked No. 7 by the WBO among 130-pounders, won by scores of 96-93 on two of the three judges' scorecards and 95-94 on the other card. There were no knockdowns during the lightweight bout.
The 20-year-old Amonsot now has a record of 16-1-1 with 10 knockouts, while the 28-year-old Reyes, from New Jersey, has a mark of 18-3 with seven knockouts.
