PERTH, Australia -- Australian cruiserweight Danny Green retained a minor world title with a unanimous points decision over American challenger B.J. Flores on Wednesday.
The judges scored the fight 117-112, 118-110 and 118-111 for Green, who improved to 31-3 with 27 knockouts. Flores dropped to 24-1 with one draw.
Green was troubled in the early rounds by Flores' quick jab but landed the more telling punches as the fight progressed.
Green's last fight ended controversially in July, when Paul Briggs was floored by a glancing blow after 29 seconds. Australian authorities described the fight as a "sham contest" and said Briggs had not disclosed his health problems. Green was cleared of any wrongdoing.
