Cruiserweight titlist Marco Huck will make his sixth defense against former titleholder Giacobbe Fragomeni on April 2 in Halle, Germany, promoter Sauerland Event announced Monday.

Huck (31-1, 23 KOs) grew up in Bielefeld, Germany, only about 10 miles from Gerry Weber Stadium, the site of his bout against Fragomeni. It's Huck's first fight there since he outpointed Victor Emilio Ramirez in August 2009 to win his belt.

"I look forward to returning to Halle," Huck, 26, said. "I have very special memories of the Gerry Weber Stadium. I will never forget the day I became world champion. The crowd was fantastic and I will put on another spectacular show on April 2. I have a lot of fans in my old home city and I will make them happy."

Huck is coming off a very difficult split decision victory against mandatory challenger Denis Lebedev in December.

Fragomeni (27-3-1, 11 KOs), 41, of Italy, won a version of the title with an eighth-round technical decision against Rudolf Kraj in October 2008 and made one successful defense when he fought to a draw against Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in May 2009 before losing the title via majority decision to Zsolt Erdei in November 2009.

Erdei then gave up the title and Fragomeni faced Wlodarczyk for the vacant belt, getting stopped in the eighth round last May. Fragomeni bounced back to stop journeyman Eduardo Ayala in the sixth round in November.

"Fragomeni is always on the front foot and makes a lot of pressure," said Ulli Wegner, Huck's trainer. "He will not give Marco a moment to rest. Once again, it will be a hard challenge but I am confident that Marco will leave the ring as the winner."
