Worth the wait: Venezuela wins suspended game

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Roberto Valera made the wait worthwhile for Lara, Venezuela.

Valera's RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted the Latin American champion to a 1-0 victory over Saipan in a rain-suspended Pool C contest.

The game had been suspended after 7 ½ scoreless innings on Saturday night.
