Canada squeaks past Saipan in teams' LLWS finales

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Justin Atkinson made sure Surrey, British Columbia, would not leave the Little League World Series empty-handed.

Atkinson plated Brody Hawkins with a single to right field in the bottom of the sixth inning, lifting the Canadian champion to a 2-1 Pool C victory over Saipan in the LLWS finale for both clubs.

Surrey (1-2) trailed 1-0 before Brandon Smith led off the bottom of the sixth with a bloop single off Harry Nakamura.
