From captain to practice players, Davis Cup title a team effort

With Andy Roddick and Bryan brothers unbeaten this year in the first three rounds of the Davis Cup, Russia -- for all intent and purposes -- found itself trailing before the final even started. And the U.S. made sure the defending champs never stood a chance.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- In typically arcane Davis Cup fashion, the line score for the 2007 championship final will read 4-1, with the United States and Russia splitting exhibition matches on the final day. But make no mistake -- this was a sweep, as one-sided a thrashing as it gets in international sport.
