Chicago tops Columbus 2-1 in US Open Cup

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- Patrick Nyarko scored on a diving header in the 78th minute to help the Chicago Fire beat the Columbus Crew 2-1 on Thursday in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup.

Nyarko headed it past goalkeeper Andy Gruenbaum from 12 yards out. The match was delayed until Thursday because of severe thunderstorms Wednesday night.
