"There's always next year," they say. Well, next year is here. We surveyed ESPN's fantasy staff to find out a bit about what they think is in store for fantasy owners in 2010.

Reality Check

Your fondest sports wish for 2010 is:
The Colts begin the 2010 season 0-14 and then rest their starters, and Curtis Painter leads Indy to a heart-stopping win.

Why will this happen/not happen?
Bill Polian will be damned if he's going to let public opinion sway him.

Any sport, who is your biggest sleeper pick for 2010?
I have no idea. I'll say Beanie Wells. I doubt he's really going to be a sleeper, and he's probably not my favorite underrated guy. But I haven't thought about this enough.

Any sport, which player do you fear will let you down, but you feel compelled to keep drafting him anyway? Honestly, I never feel compelled to draft anyone. It's all about value.

Which player has let you down one too many times and is now "dead to you"?
Running backs older than 30. Sure, there are exceptions, but you don't get rich betting on 'em.

Mad Gabs

Fill in the blanks to formulate 10 predictions for 2010. Do not limit yourself to football or baseball

In 2010, ESPN's fantasy writers will revolt for having to fill in the Mad Gabs section again.
There is no way that Alex Rodriguez will get Kate Hudson back.
• John Wall will be this year's first NBA draft pick. Hello, New Jersey!
If the Bruins win the Stanley Cup, then I will be simply amazed.
• Danica Patrick will be the next big sports star to be rather terrible in stock cars at first.
There will be ninety-bazillion players who enter the World Series of Poker ...
... but only zero players who gamble with Gilbert Arenas ever again.
Matthew Berry will keep insisting Michael Turner was a better draft pick than Maurice Jones-Drew.
This is the year that J.D. Salinger finally reveals that he is actually Terrell Owens.
2010 will forever be remembered as the year we started to look at Holden Caulfield in a whole different light.
