Wake Up Maggie scores upset at Goodwood

Wake Up Maggie rallied to defeat Costume in the Group 3, $101,000 Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood on Friday, rewarding her backers to the tune of 11-1. Ridden by George Baker for trainer Chris Wall, she defeated Costume by a half-length, with the in-foal favorite, Redstone Dancer, third. The time for the seven furlongs was 1:25.48 on good to firm ground.

Afterwards, it was announced that Costume, owned by Juddmonte Farms, would soon be joining Bobby Frankel's barn.

In the Group 2, $142,000 Richmond Stakes, Strike the Deal defeated Fat Boy by 1 1/4 lengths. A Van Nistelrooy colt trained by Jeremy Noseda, Strike the Deal was sent off at 7-1 and covered the straight six furlongs in 1:11.59.
