INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- The 4-year-old colt Slew's Tizzy will not live in the shadow of his younger brother. Nine days after 3-year-old Slew's Tiznow won a minor $70,000 stakes at Hollywood Park, his full brother Slew's Tizzy scored a $16.40 upset with a track-record win in the Grade 3 Native Diver Handicap.

Slew's Tizzy, sired by Tiznow and out of the mare Hepatica, gave jockey Joel Rosario his fourth win from the first six races on Saturday, winning the 1 1/8-mile race by 1 1/2 lengths in 1:46.78. The final time, recorded over a Cushion Track surface that continues to play lightning fast, was .28 of a second faster than the previous record held by Heatseeker.

Slew's Tizzy broke running from the inside and settled in second behind pacesetter Ball Four. Rosario pushed the button into the far turn, attacked the leader into the lane, opened up, and won clear. Past the Point, the 2-1 favorite, drifted out through the lane and finished a weary second; Ball Four weakened to third.

Spring House broke slow and finished fourth. Galantas washed out in the post parade and finished fifth. Zappa trailed. Barber and Racketeer were scratched off the program.

Slew's Tizzy, whose most recent graded stakes win was in the Grade 3 Lone Star Derby in May 2007, earned $68,200 for owner Joseph LaCombe. Slew's Tizzy and Slew's Tiznow are both owned by LaCombe and trained by Doug O'Neill.
