Big 5th inning boosts Arizona into LLWS semifinals


SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Kyle Pechloff and Connor Woods
had clutch hits in a seven-run fifth inning that propelled
Chandler, Ariz. past Coon Rapids, Minn. 9-2 on Wednesday to clinch
a semifinal berth at the Little League World Series.

Seth Fretheim went 2-for-3 and drove in four runs for Chandler
(2-1), which will play Warner Robins, Ga. in the U.S. semifinals

The Arizona team sent 11 boys to the plate in the top of the
fifth, which started with a 2-2 tie.

Chandler loaded the bases, and Pechloff's bouncer off reliever
Tanner Lowe got through the hole on the left side of the infield,
scoring two runs.

Woods followed two batters later with a double to the base of
the left-center field wall, driving home Pechloff for a 7-2 lead.
Woods couldn't stop smiling as he stood on second with fans
chanting his name.

Pechloff came on to pitch in the sixth, striking out the side.

Lowe went 2-for-3 and had a first-inning RBI for Coon Rapids
(1-2), which was eliminated.
