8/23/2007

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Kyle Pechloff and Connor Woods
had clutch hits in a seven-run fifth inning that propelled
Chandler, Ariz. past Coon Rapids, Minn. 9-2 on Wednesday to clinch
a semifinal berth at the Little League World Series.

Seth Fretheim went 2-for-3 and drove in four runs for Chandler
(2-1), which will play Warner Robins, Ga. in the U.S. semifinals
Thursday.

fifth, which started with a 2-2 tie.

Chandler loaded the bases, and Pechloff's bouncer off reliever

scoring two runs.

Woods followed two batters later with a double to the base of
the left-center field wall, driving home Pechloff for a 7-2 lead.
Woods couldn't stop smiling as he stood on second with fans
chanting his name.

Pechloff came on to pitch in the sixth, striking out the side.

Lowe went 2-for-3 and had a first-inning RBI for Coon Rapids
(1-2), which was eliminated.
