Hannover's Cherundolo signs extension
HANNOVER, Germany -- U.S. defender Steve Cherundolo has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Hannover in the Bundesliga until at least 2012.
Friday's announcement followed a verbal agreement last month to extend the 31-year-old's contract through 2012 with an option for another year.
The agreement was finalized following Cherundolo's return from the World Cup. He helped the United States reach the second round of the tournament, where it lost narrowly to Ghana.
