PARIS -- Martina Hingis, a runner-up at Roland Garros in 1997 and '99, pulled out of the French Open because of a hip injury.

The five-time Grand Slam winner will be replaced by Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, French Open organizers said.

The French Open is the only major the 26-year-old Hingis hasn't won.

Tatiana Golovin of France and Peng Shuai of China also pulled out because of injuries. Golovin, ranked 17th, has failed to recover from a right-foot injury picked up during Fed Cup play last month, and 32nd-ranked Peng has a left ankle injury, the French tennis federation said.

Golovin will be replaced in the main draw by a lucky loser, while Germany's Angelique Kerber steps in for Peng.

Previously, 19th-ranked Vera Zvonareva of Russia withdrew with a left wrist injury. Evgenia Linetskaya withdrew for personal reasons and was replaced by Emmanuelle Gagliardi of Switzerland.

The French Open starts Sunday.
