Nadal out of French Open, Olympics
MADRID, Spain -- Rising tennis star Rafael Nadal of Spain broke his left foot and will miss the French Open and the Athens Olympics.
Nadal, 17, was hurt last week during the quarterfinals of the Estoril Open and is expected to miss about three months, Spanish Tennis Federation spokesman Pedro Hernandez said Wednesday.
The French Open starts May 24. Spain's Olympic team will be chosen in June, and Nadal won't be on it.
Nadal upset top-ranked Roger Federer at Nasdaq-100 Open in Florida last month.
