A Russian-Czech final next
NEW YORK -- Top-seeded Elena Likhovtseva of Russia beat Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain, 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 to advance to the finals of the Forest Hills Classic at the West Side Tennis Club on Friday.
Likhovtseva, who has two titles in her 12 years on the WTA Tour, faces fourth-seeded Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic. Benesova defeated Kirsten Flipkens, a wild card from Belgium, 7-5, 6-2.
