Bogomolov has won 10 titles
NEW YORK -- Alex Bogomolov Jr. upset third-seeded Amer Delic 6-2, 6-3 Tuesday in the opening round of the USTA Forest Hills Clay Court Classic at the West Side Tennis Club.
Bogomolov has won 10 titles since turning pro in 2002. He lost in the first round of the French and Australian Opens last year.
Delic, in his third year on the tour, reached the second round of the 2004 U.S. Open.
In other action, Juan-Pablo Guzman swept past Diego Alvarez 6-3, 6-1, Brian Baker beat Robert Kendrick 6-4, 6-0 and Michael Russell defeated Lesley Joseph 6-1, 6-2.
Wayne Odesnik ousted Thomas Blake 6-2, 6-4.
