Golovin's straight-set win pushes her into Slovenia Open semis
PORTOROZ, Slovenia -- Top-seeded Tatiana Golovin defeated Meilen Tu 6-3, 6-2 Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Slovenia Open.
She will face eighth-seeded Vera Dushevina, who defeated Vera Zvonareva 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (3).
The match featured several baseline duels before Dushevina ended the match with one of her five aces. The 20-year-old Dushevina is looking for her first career WTA Tour title.
Seventh-seeded Gisela Dulko upset second-seeded Sybille Bammer 7-6 (3), 1-6, 6-1.
She will play fourth-seeded Katarina Srebotnik, who advanced by beating Emilie Loit 6-3, 6-3.
