Muller, Koryttseva to quarters at Cachantun Cup in straight sets
VINA DEL MAR, Chile -- Fifth-seeded Martina Muller of Germany and Mariya Koryttseva of Ukraine reached the quarterfinals of the Cachantun Cup with straight-set victories on Wednesday.
Muller beat fellow German Julia Schruff 6-3, 6-2, and Koryttseva moved into her second career quarterfinals by defeated Petra Cetkovska of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-4.
The first round was completed when Mathilde Johansson of France defeated Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez of Spain 0-6, 6-3, 6-4. She will play top-seeded Flavia Pennetta next. Eighth-seeded Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic downed Ekaterina Bychkova of Russia 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-3.
