Pennetta, Zakopalova, Koryttseva, Parmentier advance
VINA DEL MAR, Chile -- Eighth-seeded Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic came back to defeat Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 in the Cachantun Cup quarterfinals on Friday.
Top-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy beat Kaia Kanepi of Estonia 6-3, 6-3. She will face fourth-seeded Pauline Parmentier, who advanced with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Germany's Martina Muller, seeded fifth.
Zakopalova struggled to grind down Dominguez Lino until the third set, when she broke her five times and allowed the Spaniard to win only nine points on her own serve.
Zakopalova's first WTA Tour semifinal in nine months will be against of Ukraine's Mariya Koryttseva, who beat Spain's Nuria Llagostera Vives 6-3, 7-6 (4).
