Second-seeded Cornet ousted by Salerni in first round

BOGOTA, Colombia -- Second-seeded Alize Cornet of France lost in the first round to Maria Emilia Salerni of Argentina 6-4, 6-2 at the Copa Colsanitas on Monday.
It was Salerni's first WTA Tour win since September when she reached the Beijing quarterfinals.
Sixth-seeded Sara Errani of Italy beat Ekaterina Bychkova of Russia 6-1, 6-1 and 18-year-old local wild card Mariana Duque Marino defeated Jelena Kostanic Tosic of Croatia, who retired injured while trailing 6-4, 3-1.
