PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Top-seeded Vera Zvonareva advanced to the quarterfinals of the Prague Open when wild-card Magdalena Rybarikova withdrew on Thursday.

The 13th-ranked Russian next will play Roberta Vinci.

Second-seeded Shahar Peer defeated Tsvetana Pironkova 7-5, 6-2 and will play Klara Zakopalova, who defeated Vera Dushevina 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.

Also in the second round, third-seeded Victoria Azarenka knocked out Tatiana Poutchek 6-2, 6-2 and will play wild-card Karolina Pliskova.

Fourth-seeded Katarina Srebotnik cruised past Melinda Czink 6-0, 6-2 and will meet Iveta Benesova, who defeated Akgul Amanmuradova 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
