Razzano, Harkleroad ousted; Srebotnik, Yan advance
STRASBOURG, France -- Third-seeded Virginie Razzano lost before a home crowd Tuesday, routed 6-1, 6-0 by 18-year-old Chan Yung-jan of Taiwan in the first round of the Strasbourg International.
Fifth-seeded Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia and eighth seed Yan Zi of China reached the second round of this clay-court warmup for the French Open, which starts next week.
Srebotnik won 6-3, 6-1 over Germany's Sabine Lisicki, and Yan beat Italy's Mara Santangelo, who retired at 5-6 in the first set because of an injured left foot.
Ashley Harkleroad of the United States lost 6-2, 6-1 to Tatiana Perebiynis of Ukraine. Edina Gallovits of Romania won after Ukraine's Julia Vakulenko retired with an injured right wrist with Gallovits leading 6-1, 4-1.
